Issues When Proof Reading in Word on Mac

So I am curious. Is there a certain way people proof read in Microsoft Word to keep from missing things or having them repeated. I am using Office 365 and Big Sur.

When I proof read a document I prefer to do it by line. If I have quick nav turned on it seems to work fine for a while. Unfortunately, after I make a correction or turn to a new page, it will begin rereading words when I go to the next line or not mention a line break where I know one exists. If I work with quick nav turned off, I’m likely to miss most of the information on a new page. It will read one line, then jump to the next page.

I have learned I can move through the document using sentences without a problem. I just don’t like giving up my way of reading by line if I can help it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I realized that maximizing often works on Windows, so I tried that and it seemed to help a lot.

thanks because I have also the same problem when reading the last line of a page; voiceover also skips one.

I feel a little bit like I am writing to myself on this thread, but I guess that's okay because if someone reads it in the future it might help them.

The full screen solution I mentioned in my previous post doesn't work. As soon as I make a change in the document it goes back to reading it funny again. It won't read line breaks where they are supposed to be. It will also either read the same line or part of the same line on multiple lines, or skip lines entirely.

I'm open to suggestions.

One reason your not maybe hearing feedback is for a long time Microsoft ignored accessibility on the Mac. When I first got in to Mac 7 years ago or so it wasn't possible to use. This changed around 2 years ago or so. My best solution would be to submit feedback to Microsoft. I don't think there is any suggestion other than use something else that will help. I myself am using Ulysses and export to word when I am done.

I am so happy Microsoft is actually doing some work on this and I can use excel now pretty well. I think they are listening.

The one real annoying thing regarding Excel is that it will read you too much information. If you’re moving between cells, and you pass a cell you wrote in, it will tell you that it is editing, read part of the cell, tell you the 2 characters the cursor is between, and finally read the cell.
