Hello. I'm having an issue with Voiceover on Mac...
When I'm in Safari and I go into a text field to type, Voiceover seems to think I have Fast Searching enabled, even though it's not. I've restarted Voiceover, restarted the computer, and it's still not working right.
Can y'all please try to help out?
Thank you

VO and Safari on the mac is virtually unuseable for me
My computer is a 2011 macbook pro, so I cannot update past mac OS high Sierra. I don't know if I just have a wrong setting somewhere, or what the deal is, but using VO and safari on the mac is all but impossible. It just gives me "safari busy" messages or vo just starts randomly jumping around the screen. All is fine on my phone when I use safari, though. I wonder if getting a different browser for the mac is possible, or even worthwhile. In general, I only use the mac side of things for email. Everything else is still much easier and effecient in windows.
Oh ok
Oh I understand. What’s weird is this started happening a few weeks ago. Like I said, I have every setting that might be causing the issue turned off...
Quick Nav
You may have already checked this, but Quick Nav can cause VoiceOver to think you're trying to navigate a webpage rather than type in a textfield. Try pressing the left and right arrow keys together to toggle it off.
HTH
Single Key Quick Nav is turned on
You most likely inadvertently toggled on single key QuickNav, as I have seen this a lot. With QuickNav turned on use control option Q to toggle single key Quick Nav off, and your keyboard will go back to behaving normally. Good luck.
