Hey guys, I'm trying to install a program called Xampp on my Mac from the internet. I'm trying to download it from https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html When I download it, it appears in my downloads folder as "xampp-osx-8.0.9-0-vm.bz2.cpgz CPGZ archive" When I press Command + o to open the folder, it opens the archive utility, and copies the folder. I can't access the installation file to install the program. Has anyone had this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

You mentioned how it creates a folder. What do you see in there?

Nothing. Every time I try and open the folder, it creates a new zip folder of the original folder. So the first folder would be "xampp-osx-8.0.9-0-vm.vz2 vzip compressed archive

After looking at the link you provided, there are two versions and they are not clearly labeled. Make sure you are downloading the DMG version. I would adjust your Safari preferences so it displays the save as dialog instead of downloading automatically so you can see the file name. It will end with a .dmg extension and you can run it like any other app. When I opened the file it did not present a zip folder but began scanning the file.
