macOS and Mac Apps
Hello all:
I found the best way to import or transfer contact data from excel to the contact list.
Actually it's very straight forward, but the only problem is that it has very small issues if we do not do it right, it will not work.
Here are the steps to do so:
1- Make sure that your excel sheet contains all your contact data, such as first name, last, mobile, email etc, or any data that you need to add.
2- the most important thing is to let the first row to have the exact labels, other than, it will not work at all,
so, you can label First name, Last Name, Mobile, etc, just use the default labels that are inside our IOS or mac Native contact app.
3- go to file/export, and choose CSV.
4- when exporting, leave the "Include Table Names" unchecked,
5- after exporting, open your contacts app on mac,
6- It's Recommended to create a new group with CMD+shift+n, and insert all your new contacts into it, incase anything happened, you can select all contacts inside this group and delete them.
7- after creating the group, hit CMD+O to open the import weather, choose the CSV file that you exported from the numbers app, and check the ignore first card, THis is very important or also it will not work.
8- you will find all your contacts inside this group.
