iCloud Keychain, Safari and the password Generator

Hi all, My iCloud Keychain is enabled. However, what do I have to do to bring up the supposed popover that should appear whenever you come across a password field? Sites say you could do it and I know of someone who generated a strong Bard password using Safari, but that was on his iPhone. I'm curious if anyone has done it on the Mac and if so, how? Thanks.
