macOS and Mac Apps

Hello, I am a low vision Korean user with an MBP 14 M1.
What I'm looking for help with is How to specify text blocks in the Skim app with macOS VoiceOver switched on.

I want to import a PDF file of a paper into the skim app, underline/highlight the parts I want to quote, and create notes in obsidian via export, but I don't know how to block the pdf file I imported into skim with Voiceover on.

I can zoom in on the screen and use the trackpad to click and drag to assign blocks, but I'd like to know how to do this with VoiceOver on. Also, I'd like to know if there is a way to do this sentence-by-sentence or paragraph-by-paragraph. Because if I do it letter by letter, it's very manual and it's hard to focus.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my questions, as I'm new to this, and I'm a little worried that I'll be able to translate them using DeepL and get my meaning across smoothly.

Any answers or links to references would be a great help to me in using the Mac. My eyesight is getting worse, so I'm feeling the pressure to get used to using VoiceOver sooner rather than zooming in on the screen, and I'm hoping you can help me adjust.

Thank you.
