For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to sort finder items. I press VO+SHIFT+\ to get into the headers, then I can press the header title to sort by that column in the table. However, I can't sort by multiple columns. I need to sort on filename in ascending order, then by type, making sure that folders are on top of the list. This is what Windows does by default. Does anyone know how to do this?

In the folder you want to sort items, press Command J. In the resulting window, choose sort by name from the popup menu. I'm not sure how to sort folders so they appear first.

As far as my knowledge goes there is not a native way of ordering folders first and then files.
This is something that I miss from times to times but uit's certainly possible to live with that.
There are ways to customize finder to behave a little more like Windows explorer and for example make the cmd + x cmd + v available as a finder command. Look for that in the web or learn how to deal with it.
In case you are woundering how to cut and past, a question that comes usually in pair with the one you asked do a cmd + option + v where youu want to past files and they will be moved instead of being copied .....
