How to mention a contact in iMessage on mac?

Hi,
I'm running macOS 15.1.1 and I have the same problem on 15.3 beta 2. I tried this in standard mode as well as announce groups. Basically in iMessage in a conversation I hear "one possible mention, contact_name" when I type it or with @contact_name, but it doesn't seem possible to actually mention it, clicking the contact I didn't find it exposed to VO, as per their documentation. If I remember it correctly on iOS the contact name appears around the text field and with explore by touch we just double tap it or something along those lines.
Any help would be appreciated.
