How to get most out of calender in OS X

Hi! I want to use Ical app on my Mac as I do on my iPhone. But I have some difficulties: 1. I've chosen to see a year so I can go through every month. That works, but when a specific date has an event it is not spoken when I do a double mouse click with vo-shift-space I get the event, but I have to remember, that there is an event at the date. How can I get Voiceover to tell when a certain date has an event when I am looking through the week? 2. Is it possible to get a list of events like on the Idevices? 3. I turned on the weeknumber but VOiceover seems to skip this information as well. Can I do anything to get this info? Thanks in advance for any advice.
