Hi all,
I've used a mac (macbook pro m1) but use windows more lately because voiceover just wasn't cutting it for my needs particularly in school for math on the google sweet, heck even in apple's pages and ms word in all sorts of formats. Because I started using windows more, naturally all my entry level computerscience work, basic coding and such was also on windows, and i'm now used to it all. another issue i've always had was the file manag (finder), compared to fileexplorer it keep confusing me and doing things like opening random files or folders i was just trying to navigate. Any tips on vo for finder, would be appreciated. I'm trying to try mac again, but can't give the coding stuff another go without learning and understanding file structure. The reason i'm looking at mac again is the battery and popularity of macs for developers. I'll still have to figure out the math issues and all before hand too, but this is a step.

First, it would help if you were more specific as to what tasks or functions you would like explained. Otherwise, I'd say "read the manual."

Second, if too much visual clutter is part of your problem, you can customize your display inside finder. I believe it is inside the view pull down menu from the menu bar. It might also be in a view tab inside finder settings (command comma).

good luck.

Choose a viewing style that works for you. Use CMD+1 through 4 to move through view styles. Personally I like column view.
