Hi all,
So, I like the new Ear Pods from apple, and I figured that since I'm having trouble with levels and things with my Logitech, I would try this Mic as they have a louder volume, and that's what applevis editorial team was having trouble with, the game going over my voice or VIce Versa.
However, I plug them into the headphone port and they work if I go select them for sound input in system preferences. When trying to select them as an input to pass through, however, the only built in things are the microphone and the line in, both of which are not the headphones. The headset that appears there is the Logitech, the rest is SoundFlower and something called Sound Sifan, something I'm trying to figure out how to remove.
As an output there is the built in headphones but I also want to pass the microphone through to that as well but do not know what to select with input, as line in won't work.
Thanks for anybody who can help.

Headphone jack is output only
On the iMac model you have, the headphone jack is output only. You cannot use that port for microphone input. I think Apple changed this in later models, but that doesn't help you.
