A couple of possible bugs in El Capitan

hello, everyone.

I am a brand new Mac user, having had my MacBook Air for four or five weeks now. I just installed El Capitan on my system because I was having problems navigating the Bookshare web site. I am now able to navigate Bookshare now, but I have encountered a couple of problems, one that I consider a possible minor bug and one that is a moderate problem.
First to the minor one: Since I am a new user , I have VoiceOver set to high verbosity. I notice that when reading text on a web page with up and down arrows, I am constantly annoyed with VoiceOver hints. I just started noticing this after El Capitan. If I do a VO-A, the hints don't come up. I know I can just hit the control key to silence speech, but it is rather annoying. I don't want to permanently turn off hints, because they help me at times. I just don't think they should be spoken when I haven't moved to a different element on the web page.

The other problem I noticed after El Capitan, is difficulty logging on to my system when I first start it. I originally had my system set to enter a password when I turned it on. However, several times, I had to wait a full three or four minutes before I could enter my password. When I tried to enter the password, I would not hear the clicks that would confirm I was in the secure edit field, and the password bullets would not appear. After a few minutes, I would get the prompt to enter password. Because of this, I went into system preferences and changed the option to be able to log in automatically. I am the only one who uses my Mac, so this is not a major problem for me, but what about those who have their machines in an office or who share it with others? Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? I was always able to log in right away with Yosemite, so I was surprised when this came up. Thank you everyone for your patience with this long post.

In the verbosity category of Voiceover Utility, under the hints tab, you can change the time from which Voiceover speaks an element to when the hint is spoken.

Hi Jane,

I seem to have the same problem as yours in the log in window both in Yosemite and El Capitan. I use Macbook Pro 2011. Updating to Yosemite and El Capitan produced log in problem in my macbook.

Can someone help us?

Thank you,
z

Try running first aid in Disk Utility to see if there are any problems with your startup disk.
