Bootcamp Sound Issue

I am having a rather major issue with how sound is rendered on my Macbook Pro 2018 under Bootcamp. When using the internal soundcard--either with speakers or headphones--it seems like the soundcard refuses to output audio unless something is actually playing. This becomes very messy when working with JAWS because, in most cases, the soundcard does not pic up quickly enough when JAWS starts speaking. As a result, I regularly miss most or all of what JAWS says. This problem goes away once I plug in my Logitech headphones, but I do sometimes need to use headphones which plug into my soundcard instead. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was somehow a product of Bootcamp or if there is a setting in Windows that can be changed to fix this.

I do not have any issues like that on my 2019 MacBook Pro 16-inch with BootCamp. However, there was an update for BootCamp that did fix a mic issue that a lot of people were having. At least, it solved it for me.

Are you running the latest Windows 10 update on yours? On my machine at least, it was not a problem until I updated.

hi Hayden, I don't have a solution but I only would like to tell you that I also have a lot of sound issues using bootcamp. from the beginning while using speakers JAWS sounds weird compared to my other pc. Also I've being having issues when I only suspend my mac using windows with my headphones plugged into the jack, because most of the times, when I wake the macbook up, nothing is heard through the headphones nor the speakers when I unplug them, and the only way to solve the problem is to restart.

Also I have other problems with sounds in more specific programs like some games which I setup in a certain level of volume in another pc and when using the same game in my macbook, the game in windows sounds much lower than in my other pc.

I think something is not very compatible between windows sound drivers and macbook hardware.

Hi, I think is not the same problem, but I also have an audio issue with my MacBook Air 2019 and windows.
Every time I suspend my MacBook while being in windows, if I wake it up after more than 20 minutos of sleeping, the audio disappears. and I can onlyy get it back by restarting the Mac.
