flashdrive
guys do i need usb flashdrive for download and paste bootcamp drivers on it or i can paste it in mac's internal storage?
thanks.
flashdrive for bootcamp drivers
hello,
that depends on what model year your mac is. if it's 2015 and later, the bootcamp assistant create temporary partitions for the bootcamp support software, thus not needing a flashdrive. if your mac is earlier than 2015, a flashdrive is needed for copying the ISO and the bootcamp support software, and installing windows and the bootcamp support software.

Daniel
another question
thank you very much, it will be 2020 macbook air. I have another question: do i need again usb soundcard or usb headset for use narrator? or i can use normal headphones whitch i can plug in headphone jack?
headphones
you can use headphones that plug in to the headphone jack, as the headphone driver is loaded by Bootcamp assistant at the first installation screen of Windows.
thx
thank you for your help.
no problem
hello
Gorgie,
I'm always glad to hep out with Bootcamp. Keep in mind, though, that it migjht now work when you setup Bootcamp the first time. for me, it didn't work for several trys. the Bootcamp assistant told me to run first ade in disk utility. I did that, however it restored the time machine snapshots that the Bootcamp assistant removed. the download of the Bootcamp support software didjn't work the first time either. I have a slow connection, and it took a long time to download. once it worked, Bootcamp told me that it couldn't partition the disk. finally, I sta. arted the download early in the morning, and the setup of Bootcamp worked. it took a while to install windows 10 and after it was doen. the bootcamp support software lonched. I press option+TAB to bring it into focus. then I proceeded with that installation. after the restart, I check apple software update, and got Bootcamp 6.1, and wifi update for bootcamp. before that, I could not switch accessibily from windows to macos. after however, I could. and my wifi was faster on windowsk too.

Daniel
A Question regarding boot camp with NVDA
Hello.
I'm wondering if I can use the touch bar with NVDA to invoke function keys. Is it possible?
THX
To my knowledge, NVDA and
To my knowledge, NVDA and other Windows screenreaders do not support Touch Bar interaction.
Using headphones/external soundcard during the windows set up
Hi Daniel!!! just wondering this, previously when I use to install windows I use my Logitech H800 as a sound card this allowed me to have the talking windows installer from what I understand, you are trying to say we can directly plug into 3.5 headphone jack? audio output works directly? Simply means we don't need to rely on any external soundcard? if this is the case, it's very much good, make things at least helpful and it isn't as inconvenient as it was previously although, I never had issues using external soundcard in the past as well, but still this is a great initiative, I would presume the only condition is you have to have windows 10 creator version which had the talking installation built in, or the talking windows environment.
yes that is true
hello,
yes, you can plug headphones into the 3.5 MM jack, requiring no soundcard. theese days, Windows 10 is updated, and you cannot get old versions of Windows 10. the creaters update was the one to get in the past, but now every build of Windows 10 has the talking installation.

Bootcamp on an older Mac
While not precisely on point for this thread, I have a question where the expertise of this thread might help.
I have a mid2012 MacBook Air (currently running OS 10.14.6) that still works extremely well on both the OS and Windows 7 sides using bootcamp. I run on the Mac side most of the time, but still prefer and use Windows for some word processing, presentations and spreadsheets.
For quite awhile, I couldn't switch operating systems from the startup menus but, instead, had to restart the machine and choose which operating system to use.
Just recently, I was able to run the bootcamp app on the Mac side and have the system restart in Windows. But when in Windows, it won't allow me to use the start menu to switch back to Mac OS. Any suggestions?
Thanks much.
to all
hey to all,
esentially, this bootcamp 6.1 software update means you can go in the bootcamp control pannal from windows and reboot into macos. if you need any more help, feel free to email me at daniel.angus.macdonald@gmail.com. just say your from AppileVis so I'll know you're refeering to this thred.

On my 2015 macbook pro,
On my 2015 macbook pro, drivers weren't injected until after Windows was fully installed. I had to have someone from microsoft, through Be My Eyes walk me through the install. Glad this is fixed for newer models, but I just got my used 2015 and absolutely love it. Plus it still has all the ports, so I'm not living the dongle life just yet.
I did discover the updates a few days ago, and being able to switch back in to mac os from inside Windows is awesome. I would love to see a similar option in mac os to go to Windows.
I had found two apps, one called Bootchamp, and the other called Quickboot, which used to be able to do this. They sit in your menu bar, and theoretically should set temp boot volume, so not permanent like in system preferences. Once you restart, it goes back to default. They both basically work in the same way, sadly however they used to work is no longer an option, as with both I get a message saying it was unable to change boot volume while performing bless command. Something to that effect. Would love to find another program that would do the same thing, but compatible with Catalina.
I wrote to the dev of Quickboot but have yet to hear anything back.
startup disk preferences
hi to all,
you can switch between mac and windows on the mac by going to system perferences?startup disk. you'll have to enter your adminastrater password to unlock this preference pain. once you do, you'll have you startup volumes displayed, upon interacting with the scrole area.
hope this helps,
Daniel
