macOS and Mac Apps

Be My Eyes is now available on Windows, wondering if it is going to make its way to MacOS. Is there an app that can achieve the same functionality on the Mac?

You can achieve something approximate with VOCR, but it requires quite some setup steps to get working. VOCR is a great tool for other purposes as well when dealing with inaccessible software on the Mac, but I agree that having BeMyEyes with its custom tailored ChatGPT queries would be very convenient to have. Come on, people, port that iOS app to the Mac with Catalyst! 😉

A mac App for Be My Eyes would be great. I'm not a dev or something but it shouldn't be so dificult to port the IOS App to mac. Especially when they are using the same architecture.

Will just add my voice to this, in case the higher ups see this. I would love to see this happen.

If you wanted relatively good scene descriptions on Mac from your camera, you could use the iOS envision app which does support macOS, only if you have an Apple Silicon Mac unfortunately.
Haven’t used the app in a while, so don’t remember if it has something like be my AI.

There is a shortcut that does basically the same thing floating around, but you'll have to pay fractions of a cent per query

It seems that everyone but yours truly has moved on to Apple Silicon. It would be great if Be My eyes were also available for Intel macs.

Sorry to just repeat what everyone else is saying, but I would love something like the Windows Be My Eyes app on the Mac.
