Hi all,
I know this has been posted here many times before but it just seemed easier to start my own post rather than flicking through all of the different comments. I'm looking for an easy to use app that will let me do basic audio editing, mainly for a podcast but occasionally for my DJ mixes as well.
The things I will need to do are things like cutting, copying, moving things round, adding background music etc. I've tried out Audacity briefly and found it accessible, just couldn't get the hang of it as I'm a beginner to this sort of thing.
If anyone could recommend an accessible app that will do this sort of thing and a guide or podcast on how to do it, that would be great!
Cheers.

Apps for basic audio editing on the Mac
I use Amadeus Pro, costing around $50 US, for podcasting etc. Extremely accessible, simple and effective. Editing audio files is just like editing text: Cutting and inserting audio clips is performed by using Command C or X, and Command V in a linear audio file precisely like a text document. Check out the Amadeus Pro Demo series at BlindAbilities.com t.
Is there a demo version?
Hi,
Thanks it sounds good, is there a demo version I could try out?
no demo version
no there is no demo version. However check out my Podcasts and you should get a pretty good idea about how it works. Believe me, if you are familiar with mac text editing commands and navigation, this will be a piece of cake. also, feel free to give me any feedback on those podcasts.
I use amadeus for all of my
I use amadeus for all of my editing needs including dj work. Ok I'm not very good at the dj thing however I do try my best. But I do use it for my podcast and my final mix down when I'm in the studio.
Take care and hope that helps.
A couple of questions
So would Amadeus allow me to add the intro music to the podcast in before we started talking, add background music in certain places, and merge 2 recordings together? Or am I best off with something else for things like this?
Thanks and sorry for so many questions, just want to make sure I get the right one especially if I need to buy it :)
