Anyone Else Ever Used Peapod with Voiceover?

macOS and Mac Apps
Hi everyone. On Wednesday of last week my tutor and I submitted a Peapod order using their website, which I'm pretty sure is the only way of submitting an order. In order to speed up the process a bit, I submitted some items using my Windows-based desktop PC and he was on my Mac doing the same thing. I had turned Voiceover off since he is fully sighted. This after I tried to submit the entire order with Voiceover on, but we weren't having much luck. So I'm wondering if any of you have used this site with Vo, and if yes how was your experience? All delivery times on Thursday were taken probably due to the high demand for this service in this extreme cold that Chicago has been experiencing. But that wasn't the problem. This morning as I was putting away my groceries, I discovered that the milk I had ordered was missing. But then I remembered that I had inadvertently pressed something last week while trying out the site on my Mac, and Voiceover said "Item removed." I wasn't even on the Cancel link or anything. Their site actually seems to be a bit more accessible with System Access than it was when I first started using SA. As far as the service itself, I've never had a problem.

I have found that Peapod works better with the windows PC. Haven't really tried it on the mac but I did on the app for IOS and it was somewhat accessible, but when I wanted to finish placing my order, I had to go back to the windows PC.

Thanks for your help. This is good to know. I don't use Peapod that often due to the cost, but hopefully the next time I need them I'll have a copy of Windows on here. My desktop PC has honestly become a piece of crap.

Hi, I do my major grocery shopping once a month and I very successfully use Peapod on my Mac Mini with Safari and have been doing so for about four years. It works extremely well and I've never had a problem with it. I must add that I arrange my shopping differently than others might. First, I have two shoppping lists: a master shopping list and a current shopping list. (The master list I've created over many years.) I go through the master list picking out the items I want and add them to the current list each time I shop. Once I have the current list the way I want it and having saved it, I leave it open and go to the Peapod site in Safari. Then I command-tab between the current shopping list and the Peapod site and do a search on Peapod for the items in the list by using the search feature on Peapod. I also then put an asterisk before each item in the current list once it has been added to my Peapod cart. Perhaps a bit cumbersome but I've been doing it for so long that I'm completely used to it. Also one more thing to note is that reviewing your order and the whole checking out process is completely accessible. I also should add that I tried doing this whole process with my iPad Mini two months ago when I first got it using the Peapod mobile app and it worked very well, checkout and all. I don't know if I would recommend this method of shopping for everyone but it works really well for me. Good luck to anyone who might try it. Sam Troia, NYC PS: I got my master shopping list onto my iPad Mini by using a nice little app called Instashare. There are versions for IOS, pc's and Macs.

Hi everyone. I'm revisiting this topic because Peapod just revamped their website in order to better comply with section 508 standards. However, I am again having a slight issue. I've been working on an order for delivery sometime in the next few days, and the site seems to work much better with VO. However, it keeps prompting me that there is a problem with something called Web Kit, and it also mentions something about com.apple service. Has anyone ever seen this and if so what is it? The site does have a lot of frames, but they read pretty well if you interact with them.

Jake - I am interested in troubleshooting this. Can you please post your MacOS and Safari version numbers, the steps you follow on the peapod site, the exact point in those steps at which you encounter the error, and the exact verbiage of the error message(s)?

Thank you
