Looking for a free or one time only purchase of an add blocker that I can install for Safari. I'd like it to ask the standard allow dialog and if I click allow, that will be saved and I won't have to remember it again. I'm looking to stop those video adds that voice over will randomly say 0:20 seconds etc. Plus popups that like I said if it's on the allow list, will be fine. sorry if this is jumbled, time change messed me up.

I'm after an ad blocker too, and preferably one that works with Google Chrome. The specific ads I want to block are the ones that cause VoiceOver to repeatedly announce, "this ad will end in ten, this ad will end in nine, this ad will end in eight," etc.

Bonus is the ad blocker allows me to turn off constantly updating RSS feed marquees or gallery elements that announce their new content every few seconds.

Double bonus if it allows me to turn off timer announcements on event ticket sale websites.

You get what you pay for, and if you're looking for an ad blocker for macOS or Safari that's actually worth its weight in salt, blocks ads, and gives you customization options, you'll need to pay for it. AdGuard is my current favorite - I paid for a yearly subscription last year and have been enjoying the app ever since. The version I bought works across the entirety of macOS, but they have versions just for Safari and other browsers as well. I decided to purchase after trying a few free ad blocking extensions for Safari and Chrome that just didn't cut the mustard for me, or couldn't keep up with the constant cat-and-mouse game of ad blocking because they don't have the resources it takes to do so. AdGuard, on the other hand, while it hasn't been 100% perfect, is still leagues better than anything else out there so far. More information, a free trial, and purchasing options are available on the AdGuard website. Windows and mobile versions of the app are also available for download, and a subscription to one version gives you access to them all (something else I've enjoyed as I have an Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Windows laptop).

If only they would quit with the subscription model. I know why, I know it's to pay the developers' bills because of course they have to eat. I just would rather have a lifetime one time purchase. Ah well, I'll stick with what i got for now. Paul,I also wish i could find one that stopped the this add will end in ten, nine, eight... :)
