Hi everyone,
I’m kind of confused about what devices support voiceover recognition, I noticed that one of my older iPhones do not support voiceover recognition such as iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s, but my new iPhone SE second generation does have it, I’ve also seen it on iPhone 11 and iPhone XR.
Does anyone know which devices support voiceover recognition?
I’m assuming that’s the iPhone XR and later.

Hi That's because the new…
Hi
That's because the new iPhone SE has the AI chip, where as iPhone 7, 8, etc do not, or have an older version.
Re: that’s because the new
What you are saying is exactly how the situation was described during the rollout of new voiceover recognition features but at least some components of recognition have changed since I installed iOS 14 on my iPhone 8. One example is that the other day I was demonstrating Magnifier with VoiceOver on and it recognized a pair of headphones on my desk when I touched the image on the screen. I had to keep touching the image again to hear the description spoken again. It was clearly spoken once and hard to duplicate because the image changed as I moved the phone but it was clearly spoken once. Another test that seems easier to duplicate is to be in Magnifier with the back camera pointed at a computer keyboard and then touch the image on the screen. VoiceOver Attempts to recognize objects. it does the same thing in the camera app. It’s almost like having Aipoly Vision built in. Clearly, some part of new features came to some older models as proof, recall the complaints of people with older models who could not turn it off. What I would like to know is how features I’m not even supposed to have will change once I upgrade prior to actually doing so. Did anyone keep their old phone? I haven’t made the time to find a podcast of the experience on newer phones.I am using an iPhone 8 with iOS 14.2.
