when finishing installation of iOS 10, voice over did not speak the keyboard.

I haven't seen this covered but it sure seems like a major bug to me. I was asked for my aple password to finish up the installation of iOS 10. Voice over should have spoken the keyboard on that screen. It did not, I only heard the sound effect as I moved my finger around the screen. I did not have a braille display which would have solved the problem. I had to use a sighted friend to input my password. I don't know if apple accessibility is aware of this situation. But, if not, I will certainly tell them.
this also happened to my twin brother and to Jonathan Mosen's wife bonnie and there were probably others as well.

Thanks for reminding me of this. I knew I had a bug to report, but I couldn't remember what it was. Yes, I indeed had this problem myself last night; I was wondering what the heck I was going to do since it was only me, my guide dog and my cat, neither of which, would be much help even if they wanted too. Lol
Seriously though, after just randomly swiping around a number of times, it eventually spoke to me with the numbers to enter my passcode.
It is indeed quite a major bug though I would think.

Luckily that's the only time it happens but it needs to be fixed just in case we have to do it again. I will say though It's easier doing that then that hello welcome screen that was in previous installs. Finding that slide to setup was a nightmare sometimes.

I have submitted a report to apple
and yes You are not alone last night I had the same issue as you guys.
The workaround is type your passcode as the only way to unlocked the device
voiceOver is providing feedback using sounds effects I been able to put my password multiple times without voiceOver to end this iOS software update and is not asking for your aple password
if it's asking for the password to unlock the device
just for curious
I seen this issue updating my iPhone using
iTunes on Mac OS

Hello there I had the same problem the way and I work around it was that I spun my router into hand writing mode and it gave me numbers and then I did it that way that's how I worked around it I just handled it with my finger on the screen my numbers I meant I wrote it on the rain with hand writing mode enabled and I meant screen that would probably be the only way to get around it that I know of at the moment

Interesting, I didn't experience this issue on either my iPhone 6 or iPad Air. However, in the case of my iPhone, I'm not sure exactly when the installation finished, as I had it in my pocket and took it out and guessed when it was finished. By then, I entered my passcode as normal and was taken to the home screen with no welcome screen as in previous iOs updates.

On my iPad, I entered my passcode with a bluetooth keyboard and as I did, I noticed what sounded like Samantha speaking. Alex came back as I was going into accessibility settings to investigate.

Hello,

I didn’t encounter this issue either when I updated my iPhone 6 to IOS 10.

It could be a device specific bug. What device are you using and what IOS are you upgrading from? When submitting a bug report, this info would be helpful.
HTH and good luck.
