It's kinda hard to explain my problem, but I will try
So when I was using whatsapp previous to this problem, I could have it, so when I was in the app, and in another chat, if a message came in, but from a chat I wasn't currently in, the in app noise for chats would sound. However voiceover would not say anything, no banner would come up, literally just the sound
I think since IOS 16, possibly, this now no longer works.
If I select in app notifications, and don't select banner or alert, and only select sound for in app notifications, I get nothing when in app
Can anyone point me in the direction of what I'm doing wrong, as it makes the app extremely cumbersome to use

They Broke It.
I'm having the opposite problem. Even though I have it set to just play sounds and not pop up a banner when whatsApp notifications come in, when I'm in a chat and a message comes in in another chat, voiceover reads the chat and if I hit one wrong button, it knocks me into the other chat. When I have it set to no banners, I want it to not pop anything up, even when I'm in the app.
