What is your favourite text editor?

Hi all,
I'm wondering what everyone's favourite text editor is for iPhone? Bonus points if it syncs/can work with Windows as well, but not required.
I know Microsoft Word is the obvious choice there, on the Windows side, but last time I checked it wasn't accessible on iOS.
Thanks!

Probably not exactly what you are expecting in the realm of 'text editor', but One Note seems to be popular with users of both iPhone and Windows OS. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you mean favorite Word Processor then it is Pages or Voice Dream Writer. When using Pages I enable Typing Feedback in the settings for Spoken Content. Voice Dream Writer has some very useful features for finding words for what you want to express yourself. Pages is free with iOS but I don’t remember what Voice Dream costs. Have no idea about Windows, haven’t used a PC or any desktop in ages.

That term also applies, heh. I guess they're sort of interchangeable.

iOS, I love ulysses, but that is a subscription. It's markdown, and there's a microsoft word extension called writage, which converts markdown into formatting. Also, ulysses converts into several popular formats, like html, word, text, html or epub I think. PDF is also an option, if I remember.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m finding Pages for iOS to be rather frustrating to use on my iPhone 13. I’ll admit that I’m not using any of the built-in templates when attempting to write a story, for example; I just choose the “Start Writing” button when adding a new document.
A couple issues I currently have are:

1. When navigating through my document with a Bluetooth keyboard’s Up and Down arrow keys, VO reads some, but not all of the lines. I’m thinking this may have something to do with the way the screen is laid out, in that each line seems to be its own element when swiping left or right when using the touchscreen. Is there a way to make it function more like the Notes app so you could use the Line rotor setting instead?
2. When making a numbered list, for example, VO might say that the list starts when I’m beginning to write the third entry for some reason. (In other words, when I press Enter, I'll hear "3", followed by "new list".) However, when navigating through the document afterwards, I don’t get any feedback about the list, or some of the items may appear to not be numbered. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, regarding other apps, I’m wondering if products like Byword (which from what I’ve seen hasn’t been updated in a long time) or Ia Writer are worth buying?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly Sapergia
