Weird call routing issue since updating to iOS 16

Hi,
Ever since updating to iOs 16, my calls switch from my bluetooth headset to the earpiece, which I never use. This is a pain because most of the time, I'm walking around and don't have the phone nearby, with my headset in, and all of a sudden, I don't hear anything in my call. Then I have to struggle to get the call back in the headset where it belongs. I know about the call audio routing feature, and it doesn't matter whether it's in automatic, speaker, or bluetooth headset mode. Is there any way around this? And is anyone else experiencing this issue, is it common enough where I should report it to apple?
