Hi,

Hope everyone is well and the weather is being kind.

I'm just catching up with Weather Gods releases in case people missed the recent updates on the App Store.

4.7 was released with the following features

- Tropical storm tracking with detailed information about each active storm, including observed and forecast. Track information includes locations when over land.
- Tropical storm archive. Access to historical storms from 1851 for the Atlantic basin and the 1940s for the Pacific basins.
- Tropical storm notifications. Follow a tropical storm and receive detailed notifications as it develops. Notifications are more frequent as it makes landfall.

I also have an opportunity to include Weather Radio in the App. This is early days but I have been speaking to the team who distribute the feeds and have permission to include them in Weather Gods.

What do people think, is this something which might be useful? It would be part of the Premium subscription and include Grandfathered users.

Scott

Hi Scott. I been meaning to ask. Tropical storms the notifications and tracking etc. Is that a grand fathered user feature?

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 11:21

hi TamagotchiTune

Unfortunately I'm not able to make it available for grandfathered users. The tropical storm data is quite expensive, especially with the notification storm tracking.

Thank you for the answer. I was confused because it said premium users and my account says that and I'm grandfathered so I wasn't sure. thanks again.

Works well in iOS 18 and OS 11. No issues with notifications.

Having access to weather radio from within the app would be very cool!!

Hi, thanks for this wonderful app. I believe that having weather radio in the app would give us an extra source of information.

Hello! I'd love to see Weather Radio in the app! Every app I've tried that has this feature the app is either inaccessible, or the feature itself isn't, or they do not have my radio station for it. it's quite annoying! But, with you I knowx will be accessible, and thorough.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to start working on Weather Radio in Weather Gods.

What features would you like?
I've already got:
- list all stations
- find a station by call sign
- find station by location
- favorite a station

What else?

Hey there, loving these new features however, ever cense I upgraded to watch OS 11, when I look at my clock face with the complication, VO just is giving me 4 hyphens, when it use to give me what the weather is at a clance. Do I need to change something within the watch? Thanks.

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 11:21

Hi Jonathan

I'm still on iOS17 , WatchOS10.

You could try removing and re-adding the complication. The four hyphens generally indicates that the complication has failed for some reason.

Also, if it's a GPS location then check the location permission on the phone and watch for Weather Gods. Apple loves to mess with these every time we get a new iOS / WatchOS.

I would really enjoy this feature!

Thanks for all feedback to far. I'm going to start a new forum post to collect weather radio suggestions etc in one place

Where do I go to turn on notifications for a tropical storm? I don't think I've come across that.

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Saturday, September 21, 2024 - 11:21

hi Troy

Double tap a storm in the list and at the bottom of the details screen is a toggle notification button. You can toggle to receive notifications for that storm. Weather Gods will automatically remove it when the storm is over.

Thanks Scott, there hasn't been a storm I'm interested in since you updated wg to add that feature, but if another storm forms before the end of the season I'll look for the notification thing so I'll know where it is when I actually need it.
