I tried to use mBraille and Fleksy as third party kyeboards, and when using Fleksy, all that happened when I tried to type is Voiceover said Kaypad, and when trying to type with mBraille, therewas no response when I tried to type a letter. I'm using an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.4.1. Any help would be appriecited. Thaks.

typing with Fleksy
Fleksy requires a bit of getting used to.
I would suggest to move your finger around the keyboard in order to understand the layout and size of the keyboard. With a bit of practice, Fleksy can work fairly well these days.
I haven't tried MBraile.
