Hi there to one and all, I’m sure some of you are having this issue but are there any workaround for using messenger app on the iPhone. When I want to send a message to a friend of mine on my messenger contacts, I can find the name but when I flick around to where to type the message and the type text field it just keeps saying “loading“ does anybody have a workaround as such. I’m using the iPhone 12 mini with the latest iOS version with VoiceOver.

Odd issue.
I just looked at Messenger and I do not experience this issue. Sometimes, there is a bar that might be collapsed. If so, try expanding it and see if you can type then. otherwise, I would try reinstalling the app.

Sadly that feature doesn’t work by trying to expand it hopefully when there’s a new version they will hopefully fix it. I did try to use screen recognition but it doesn’t work but thanks for the suggestion anyway glad that it works for you at least.
Have you tried using Siri to send your message?
I've not experienced this problem either, but I generally use Siri to send an original message, and if I'm replying to a message, I can find the message box and double tap it to focus on it and then either type or dictate the message.

As of yet, I haven't found a work-around. I thought maybe enabling screen recognition would help, but it didn't.

Hey! Not having this issue, and hope I didn't just jccx myself. :-) Sorry to hear that some people are having this issue. I've used Messenger I think about 3 times today. All 3 times, it's worked. now, I've gotten the loading message, but, it usually goes away after a minute or 2. So, I think it's just because I have 7 pages of messages with the people that I was messaging with today. lol :-) I will say though. That I have not had to start a new conversation. So, maybe this issue could be isolated to only when starting new conversations. In which case, I hope I don't have to start a new conversation any time soon. At least, until there's another version of Messenger.

I’m experiencing this issue with pretty much everyone I try to message through messenger.
I’m using an iPhone 13 pro max with the latest beta of iOS 15.6.
A temporary fix for messenger
I’ve just seen a comment on a Facebook group for how to temporarily have a workaround go to the typing screen for the persons contact on messenger. However you will have to go to the compose part of the message type in the persons name once you found that then tap on the encryption button on then it brings up the typing text area for you to type the message in. It’s really strange but that’s the only temporary workaround I’ve managed to figure out. Hope that helps some of you.

It happens where there is no prior messaging history. I believe it can also happen if the contact is chosen when “people” is the selected tab. I reported it to Facebook.
Another workaround is to switch VoiceOver off, press the right area and turn it on again. Plainly far from easy and I hope we get a fix soon.

Hey, I know what the cause of the problem is, sadly I don't have a solution to it.
Through playing around I found out that if there is no existing message threat with the person you are trying to contact, the app is stuck at the loading screen and won't continue, this also happens if VO is disabled, seams to be a general problem with the App.
If there is an existing message threat, things work out normally.
My current workaround is to type the first message from my computer and do all the other messages from my phone.
Although the messaging part has been removed from the official FB site, you can still write messages by clicking the message button on the profile, you just can't look at your messages anymore.

Some issues I have
I have had the same issues with messenger, in which sometimes it gets stuck on the loading screen, and doesn't take you to the window where you can send messages. Not sure what is going on [here exactly, but this needs to be fixed, otherwise we won't be able to send messages. Their are a few times where it has worked, but I think it either depends on the different contacts, or something else. Anyway that has been an issue since the new update.
Latest version, no fix
Just receive the latest version of messenger, the problem is still not fixed. Seems like a wasted effort on everyone’s behalf. I keep thinking in every version they will fix it.
