I am experiencing a persistent issue with the VoiceOver feature, particularly concerning its Direct Touch functionality, which is intended for use with non-compatible applications and games. The problem arises when previewing an image in the Quick Look feature within the Files app. As I swipe to locate the 'Done' button to exit Quick Look, VoiceOver's cursor, upon reaching an image object, inadvertently activates Direct Touch. This requires me to repeatedly disable and re-enable VoiceOver. Occasionally, VoiceOver becomes unresponsive to motion commands, forcing me to close and reopen the app. Sometimes, this is preceded by VoiceOver freezing.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? For context, I have disabled the Direct Touch for the app using the rotor. The device in question is an iPhone 15 Pro Max running on iOS 17.3.

Experienced it since iOS 17 was released
Hi there.
Yes, I’ve experienced that bug since the beginning of iOS 17
Advice
Try the following:
1. Go to Settings > Accessibility. Double tap on VoiceOver.
2. Go to Rotor. Double tap on Rotor items.
3. Navigate this list until you find Direct Touch. Double tap to disable.
4. Back out of the list, then navigate to the button marked as Direct Touch apps.
5. In this list you can choose which apps have permanent direct touch enabled/disabled.
HTH. 😃
