Hi everyone!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Shalin Shah, a college student at UC Berkeley studying computer science. I develop and maintain an application called Voice OCR. I just wanted to share that I released a new update a few days ago – Voice 6.3. It's free to download, and you can find it on the app store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/voice-ocr-document-reader/id903772588.

Voice was hand-crafted to improve access for blind and low vision people like you. It can help you quickly read items like product labels and magazine pages in your day-to-day. But you can also use it for more advanced reading like mail or books.

It has some really great features like real-time reading, very high-quality OCR (perhaps the best in the world), voice control where you can say things like "capture" and the photo will be captured, hundreds of delightful reading voices, and more.

I've worked hard the past few weeks to make the product better and make improvements.

Here's what's new:

  • Lots of bugs fixed for importing images and PDFs from apps like Whatsapp and iMessage.

  • Ability to change between offline mode and online mode for text-to-speech voices.

  • New and better loading sounds in the app.

  • Improvements to corner detection.

  • Fixed some bugs with the voice command feature.

  • Fixed some typos in the app settings.

  • Overall, tons of bug fixes and massive performance improvements.

It's a free download on the App Store, and if you get a chance to try it out, don't hesitate to send me feedback at shalinvs@gmail.com. I welcome all suggestions, feedback, or criticism.

Thank you!
