Hi Guys,

i hope someone can assist me, i have a colleague of mine who depends on voice over 100% of the time because he cannot see. when sending an sms, you can add the contact via the + button in the TO field.
Voiceover reads the contacts when you scroll through the list, however it no longer reads out the contact when you go to the TO: field.

This is a problem whe you want to verify that you have added the correct person, on ios 7, it used to read to, and also the recipient of the sms. we on ios 8.1.1, iphone 5s, 32gb

Any work around/solution will be appreciated.

Regards,

Patrick

Hi ScorpioMan
Well if the voiceover doesn't read on the edit text to add contacts try this
don't open or avoid touch the message app
open the phone app
Select contacts on the buttom
select the person name from the contacts list and hit on it
Hit on the send message or if the number is associated with iOS device will show as iMessage
hit on the body text and start writing the text
This is a workaround
I don't know and I don't remember if at iOS7 is presented this voiceOver bug.

Hi Marco,

Thank you for the response, this is what we have been doing so far and though it works, it is still a bit of a pain that one cannot read who the message is being sent to.

if you locate the to: field then flick right with one finger, it will read out the recipient. unfortunately, it is not "visible" by exploring, flicking seems to be the only way. i do consider this a bug.
