This is a strange an intermittent problem but it’s super frustrating when it does happen. Example: tonight I just went to post a status update using the Facebook iOS app. I did the double finger tap to initiate voice dictation, got about three words out before voice dictation abruptly stopped. I tried several times with the same result. I even closed and re-open Facebook and still got the same result. I’ll probably have to restart my phone which is such a pain! I’m voice dictating this message right now using Safari with no issues. Anybody else experienced this on FB and know of a less disruptive solution than having to restart the phone? Thank you.
Update: I just restarted my iPhone and I’m still having the problem dictating on Facebook! This is ridiculous. I’m running the latest version of the FB app and everything. I’ve had this happen before but I’ve never had a restart not at least temporarily fix the problem.

Sounds like a Facebook issue…
Sounds like a Facebook issue, and we all know how helpful they are over there with accessibility.
A possible workaround
I started having this problem about 3 weeks ago. I updated to IOS 15.1, but it still stopped the dictation after 1 or 2 words. The solution I discovered is: magic tap and say your first word. When you get the shut-off tone, tap again and continue speaking. It stays on, for some reason. I did it twice in the same FB session.
@honest nan
Yup, that worked. Thanks. :)
Still, three months later and on the newest versions of FB and iOS and this issue is still happening. Come on, FB
