Using Feeddler RSS in IOS 7 has become very frustrating for Voiceover users

Hello all: I’d like to tell you about a problem that I’m having with Feeddler RSS (the free version), and a FeedHQ account on my iPhone 5 running IOS 7. The thing is that, every forty seconds more or less, VoiceOver plays a sound indicating that the screen has been refreshed or loaded and VoiceOver focus goes back to the beginning of the screen. If you’re scrolling through the list of articles within a feed, you’ll have VoiceOver focus back to the top of the list (and that’s something common to other apps in IOS 7), but when you’re reading an article within Feeddler you’ll have voiceover focus back to the OK button that’s in the top left side of the screen. This makes the app useless for me, since every now and then I have to start reading again by performing the read all from cursor gesture. Has anybody had this issue? It would be very interesting for me to know about your own experiences, since I have written to the developer at feeddler@gmail.com and got no answer yet. If it’s a general issue maybe we can write to them again and see if this can be fixed as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for bringing up this topic. I'm facing exactly the same issue and already wrote to the developer as well.

Commonly, this happens when an app has some form of carousel or banner that periodically refreshes what it's displaying. At its very worst, I've seen this reset VoiceOver focus every 5 seconds ... and that was on pages in the app which weren't even displaying the banner! In the case of Feeddler, I would guess that they are using something similar to refresh the adverts being displayed, and this is the cause of the problem.

Well, that's good news for those having the premium version that, at least, has no banners and maybe the problem gets solved. Anyway, the developer has answered to me saying he will have a look at the problem really soon. I hope he's able to find a solution for the free version at least. Has anybody tried the pro version with iOS 7?
Hello, Lets try this; I don't know if it will help/solve the problem. Does this app have an option to ONLY refresh the app on start-up(opening the app)? checking that feature and making sure it is on might solve the constant refresh issue. Perhaps you have the app set to refresh everytime you enter a new feed or something like that. I don't have this app and do not use it, but some dev's do have such a feature; make sure your app is only set to update/refresh upon start-up. One other thing; turn off backround app refreshing in your settings application; this might stop the issue as well. Just two thoughts. -Andrew-
