Hi all. I don't use My iPhone 3GS very often because prefer Mac and work with it most of the time. iOS is simple to navigate and use but it lacks some capabilities i need. But simple though it may be, there are still some features i can't use. For example it seems impossible to me to copy text or individual words in Safari and other applications. Which gesture serves for autocorrection feature? Is it possible to highlight text and look up words in a dictionary? And finally i heard about one useful feature in iOS 5 which allows Voice Over users to assign their own names to any unnamed items on the screen, so i would also like to know how to carry this one out :)

I'm a bit pressed for time, so I'm sure one of the others can handle most of your questions. As for how to assign custom labels to things with VoiceOver, find the element that you would like to rename, then double tap and hold with 2 fingers. A text field will then pop up and you can enter the new lable. Then, flick right twice to save, and it's done. Text editing has been around before iOS 5 in terms of copying and so forth, along with spell check. However, as I do this with my braille display, and very rarely on the touch screen, I'll let a more advanced touch screen user handle this part of your post.
Well, I don't know much about highlighting and looking up words, but here's the 411 about copping text. You can do this in edit fields, but in Safari, you cannot coppy web content. The application does not allow coppy or paste. However, there is a paid web browser that is supposed to allow this feature, though I haven't quite figured it out yet. It's called Maven Web Browser. It's accessible and not difficult to use with a little playing around. It has even been known to go for free at times. That's all I can tell you for now. If you don't know how to coppy and pase in general, see below. First, use the roter to select the incrament in which you want to select items: characters, words, etc. Then flick up or down to find the place at which you wish to begin selecting items. Remember that if you are flicking down, the curser will be positioned after the character or word that is anounced, so if you want to select that item, you will have to flick up once to get the curser position to before it. Once you are in the right spot, carefully place two fingers on the screen close together. Try and get close to the center of the screen. Then slowly move your fingers out so you can hear Voice Over anouncing the items being selected. The selection will occur according to the rother setting: character, word, etc. If you go to far, slowly move your fingers closer together and Voice Over will anounce items being unselected. Finally, once you have highlighted what you want to work with, use your roter to swich to "edit." Then flick down to coppy or cut, or whatever you want to do. Also note that like windows, if you simply want to replace text, just typing in the replacement text will delete the old text and put in the new. I hope this helps.

I've actually suggested to them that they make it where you double tap select in edit then turn the router so that you are characters ow words and then simply flick up and down. the pinching jester is hard for my wrists. I hope they can do this one day.

Just follow the steps you would in any other edit field, i.e. selecting either characters, words, or lines with the roder and spread two fingers out vertically to select text, turn to edit on the roder and flick up/down to cut or copy. I find it really annoying that the messages app doesn't support selecting text, too. The only option when flicking through the roders options in edit mode is copy. Thanks, Shersey
Hi Felix I suggest to you listen the last podcast submitted I hope be understanding, Pinch gesture hope this helps.
