Two Step Verification woes

Hi folks,

I'm probably being incredibly stupid. But when I try to sign into my ICloud account, I get prompted to enter my verification code from my trusted device. All well and good. The alert pops up on my device, and I carefully type in the code presented. However, the web site always says that the code is invalid, when I know, with complete certainty, that I have entered exactly what is presented to me in the alert.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there some issue with VoiceOver reading the code in the alert, so that I'm not hearing what the code actually is? Or is there some incredibly short time limit in which you have to enter the code? I'm baffled because listening to the code and typing it in is so straightforward, I really can't think how I'm going wrong.

Any suggestions, other than being careful which I am already, gratefully received.

Make sure that you are typing the right code. Also contact Apple Support for further assistance if needed. Maybe you have to type the code from the same iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

With genuine respect, I did already say that I was certain I was typing in the right code. And I don't really know what you mean by the same IPhone... I only have one. I don't have to type anything into the IPhone. It is the IPhone that gets the verification code sent to it and displays it in a notification alert. I have to type this code into the web site to connect, and it is that web site which is saying the code is invalid.

Is there anyone who is successfully using two step verification with VoiceOver? if so, could you perhaps give a step-by-step guide as to what you do in case there is something really simple I'm missing? E.g. for some bizarre reason, do you have to swipe backwards through the code to get it in the right order or some such weirdness?

Thanks.
