Twitter notifications

Hello all, How do notifications work with Twitter? If I turn them on would I be notified every time a new tweet is posted to my timeline? I haven't yet turned on notifications in Twitter because if this is how it works I would be getting way too many notifications. I would only like to receive notifications for certain Twitter feeds that I follow, but I don't know if that's the way notifications work in Twitter. I have Twitterrific, Tweet List Pro, and the native Twitter app on my iPhone 5S. Tweet List is the app I prefer for reading my Twitter timeline, but I have heard that it's not good for push notifications. If someone would explain for me how Twitter notifications work I would really appreciate it! Thank you. Take care, Lisa

Hi Lisa. I have twitteriffic and twitter respectively. If you have notifications enabled, you'll get one for every mention, or dm and rt as well as favorites, thoguh I also have texting set up. I thik you can set at least one of them maybe texting, to tell you I only wan tit from, insert name. I haven't honestly used twitter in a while and it shows. :) Sorry I can't help more.

First to enable notifications using the text message method first text start to 40404. Next text on then the user name's tweets you want to be notified about to 40404. To turn on notifications for every tweet just text on to 40404 then send.

Hi Lisa. To get back to the original question you asked, which hasn't been answered, I couldn't find the notification settings, but look in your settings, there's both twitter and probably the others as well. I'm sorry I couldn't find it.
