Is There a Way to Reduce the Verbosity of VoiceOver on iOS?

I'm certain the answer is no but am asking anyway. Is there a way to reduce feedback from Voiceover? Not punctuation but other things like for instance when I reply to an text using iMessage Voiceover says "message, text field is editing, character mode, imessage, insertion point at start". That is way too much information to hear each and every time I go to type.

I don't know how the 777 got on the end of my subject. Also forgot to say my question is for IOS 9.2

No., I understand what you mean, though. I've gotten used to reflexively using the two finger, single tap to shut it up, especially on my grouchier days. Same goes for the control key on all the other screen readers I use, or keyboard with IOS.

Hints disabling. I think if you don't want your samantha or whoever to keep on talking, or in another words, make them to talk less, it's better to disable hints. Just a thought.

I am about to upgrade my iPhone 5 to a 6S. If I jailbreak the 5, are there any work arounds for verbosity or a dictionary manager the way jaws and other screenreaders do it? I imagine the answer is no, but wanted to ask, as I am going to be using the 5 as a music server around the house, and I completely agree with Betsy that the verbosity of iOS tends to be far too high in many apps. Thanks much.
