In most screen readers, there's a key to bypass the screen reader for the next keystroke, so that it is processed by the app rather than the screen reader. I'm not having any luck finding this for VO on IOS. Does it exist by any chance?
I need to use the "Microphone" app, but the gain adjustment apparently requires swiping up or down. IT's not a standard slider.
BTW: I'm using this because I figured out that the IPhone can be used as a USB microphone by the Mac. Plug it in and enable the feature in the AudioMIDI settings. One of the cooler things I've discovered on the Mac, in fact. It does require an app to feed the IPhone's internal mics to the lightning connector cable, though. Microphone and Megaphone (which doesn't have enough gain) are the two apps I've found.

Double tap and hold and keep your finger all the time. Swipe he direction you are wanting to swipe and then let go. I do the same thing with the garden oin Plant nanny in the garden. So double tap and hold, swipe up, down, left or right and then release the screen so you can use VoiceOver normally.
