Text Receipt Reminder

Greetings.

On my iPhone 6, running iOS 8.2, I get a second new text notification 2 minutes after a text arrives.

For example, here is the sequence of events.

Phone is locked.
Text arrives, and I hear the "Ding" and text message details. It says something about New Text message, now.
The phone auto locks and goes back to sleep.
I do nothing.

Then, I will hear, New Text 2 minutes ago, in a second notification 2 minutes later.

This is consistent. Is it also normal?

I believe this is a normal setting. There used to be a setting under settings, messages where you could adjust reminders and whether you received them, but when I looked for that option just now in 8.2, I could not find it. However, this is something I have been receiving since I first had an iPhone, the 2 minute reminder, if you will.

Hi,

Under Settings / Notifications / Messages there is an option to repeat an SMS notification every two minutes up to 10 times, so that will help. Of course you can disable it as well.

I don't know why I didn't think to look there. Thanks for the reminder. I'm off to smack myself upside the head now.

This helps. Thanks for the assistance.

I was looking for this option you mention, but I can't find it in notification center at all. There is no messages option in there.

Thanks for sharing the tip about the number of two-minute Messages reminder and that it can be adjusted. I've had my phone for a long time now and never seen that particular option.

It's definitely there in 8.3 under settings, notification Center, messages, and then at the very bottom it says repeat alerts If you go into that there are the options

Hi.
BlindKreep is completely correct apart from one thing. It's called notifications, so it would be settings/notifications/messages/messages options. the messages options is a heading at the bottom of the screen. I hope this helps and I just found out about this feature through you guys so thanks for that!
