Hello, Firstly, welcome to the world of iOS devices and to appleVis. Feel free to post here if you ever need help :) To your question, its pretty simple. Assuming you've got the hang of how some VoiceOver gestures work, locate the messages app, which is usually on your first page somewhere, then double tap on it. Then, flick 1 finger to the right quickly or drag your finger around the top of the screen and you'll find the compose button. Double tap on this. VoiceOver should say "to, text field, is editing", it might not say this depending on where the focus lands, but you should be on the new message screen. Then the keyboard will have popped up towards the bottom of the screen, and their are 3 ways you can choose who you want to send it to. You can use the keyboard to type in the first few letters of a persons name, then move your finger slightly above the keyboard and they'll be a list of results. Double tap on the 1 you want. You can also type in the persons number you want to send it too. Then again drag your finger slightly above the keyboard and you'll find the message text field. Double tap on this, type your text, then double tap send, which is to the right of the message text field. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want me to explain it again differently.
