I have the latest version of tap tap see. I normally mainly use it to check the temperature on my thermostat. I've noticed the new version is way off. It has described my thermostat other things than what it is. It has said it's a front load washer, a Samsung note4m an electronic device, etc.
What is the deal with this app? Might as well get rid of it if it's not going to recognize things properly as it once did. It's ashame too it was a good app.

Hi Troy,
Keep it on your device. They released an update like you said that said somewhere they disabled video recognition, and will be repudiating the entire user interface and app to improove it. When that'll be, no clue. Also, have you tried Seeing AI by microsoft? If not, get it and give it a go. For the time being, it may be of some help, but Your use case might be different.

Hey there Troy,
As Justin recommended, Saeing AI may be an alternative if you feel TapTapsee isn't working properly. Setting the mode to short text should allow you to read the temp accurately.

I deleted the app. I don’t understand why they decided to render the app useless in the process of improving features.
Now, TapTapSee is totally useless.

Very disappointed. This app used to be my go to for quick product identification such as with K cups. Now the app only gives generic descriptions and even when they are correct they are basically useless to me. Recently, I also noticed that tapping the video button causes the app to take a picture as if I had double tap the camera button. What is going on with this app?
I agree that Seeing AI is a great app and is the one I use most to identify products.
Nevertheless, I hope they fix tap tap See because this app filled and niche for identifying products where there was no text or barcode.
