If you mean for the camera app to trigger from motion, I've never found anything in the app settings to do that. I don't know if there is a separate app in the App Store for motion detection and picture taking.
You can set a timer to take a picture a short period of time after being activated. You can also get any number of bluetooth devices with a button to take a picture. The device is what I prefer, even when I could tap the button on the screen because tapping can shake the phone.
What, exactly, are you trying to do with the picture?

What I want is it to take the picture automatically when what I want is in focus. You said it will take a picture after so many seconds how is this done?

At the top of the screen, there is an option called Camera Controls. Double tap that and one of the options that comes up is timer. You have a choice of three seconds or ten seconds. That would be the time you have after you double tap the button to take a picture.
Unless you've turned off auto focus, the camera will automatically focus on something when you take the picture. I have no way to use the manual focus and exposure, so I don't know anything about adjusting those, but they are in the Camera Controls menu too.

Selfie sound and is, a blind person's app, it uses the back camera unless shown otherwise, and it also sounds a bit dumb saying "I can't see you" until it does then in about two seconds, the pic is taken. If you listen to voice over, it will say centered, top edge etc. Also I thought siri could take a pic. You can always upload the pic to FB, get a detailed scrip then decide if it sucks. Good luck.

I'm sorry, I was never good at that, search for selfie ex and you should find it. I swear i'm not being deifficult, lol. Just use your phone, not a mac if you have one.

Hi all,

You can also use a shortcut from the gallery of the shortcuts app if you can find it in there that when you say, "Hey Siri, say cheese," it will take the picture. I have it and use it some.

I didn't know you were talking about taking a selfie. That would be a pain if you were going to use the double tap. The camera app will tell you there's a face in the center or top left etc. Either of the volume buttons will take a picture when in the camera app, but that will still tend to jostle the camera. So... maybe the selfie app or Siri is a better suggestion than mine.
