What would you like to have in an idea study tool app for iOS? One of the ideas we are exploring for our Read2Go app is to build some study tools. Any thoughts? What is a good study tool?

The only thing that comes to mind which would make sense in a book-reading app is the ability to take notes. For instance, you pause reading, open a note, and write down the definition of a new word or a reminder that this part will be on next week's test. Then, as you are reading, a sound plays (if set to do so in settings) to alert you to a note. You could also view all notes in a book, or the closest notes to your current position, or search notes. Just some random thoughts from a guy who should probably be asleep. :)

Well, having been testing the Kurzweil 1000 app for the last eight years I'm glad to hear a great education-oriented app is to be developed for the visually impaired. My suggestions follow: 1. Offline dictionary access. It is essential that any study/reading tool allow users to define the word closest to the cursor, and I think that should find its way into Read2Go or whatever app which is to be developed. Also, I've never been a big fan of internet dictionaries as they cannot be accessed everywhere everytime. 2. Note creation and sharing. An app of that ilk should allow users to create notes by moving to a word and performing the necessary steps. Users should be allowed to move around the list of notes, export them to a separate file if needed, share them with those who read the same book or simply want to access the notes, and be notified of the presence of them when reading the book. 3. Easy access to online encyclopedias. Such an app should allow users to specify a topic and then research it via online sources such as Wikipedia or Britanica without the need to leave the app, open the browser, do the research, and return to the app. 4. Auto-summarize. The app should allow users to specify a key word or a set of key words in order to have certain sentences containing those extracted from the book. 5. Partial save-as. Users should be allowed to specify two page numbers to save the pages between those saved as another smaller file with all links, bookmarks and notes retained. 6. Easy access to online translation services. Google Translate would be the first candidate. So the app should let users specify a word, phrase, sentence or passage and have it translated to a different language. I'll add to these notes in case something comes to my mind. However, it would be great if this app, which can be part of Read2Go, could support extra file types such as Epub and PDF, and could provide at least basic OCR features. These would make it a fabulous product for each and every blind user over there.
