Soundscape from Scottish tech army versus Soundscape from Soundscape Community?

In the Apple App Store, there are two supposed Microsoft Soundscape replacements: one called Soundscape, by the Scottish Tech Army, which has been mentioned here. The other is called Soundscape Community, by an entity called Soundscape Community. I’m wondering if anybody knows anything about the reliability, etc. of these two different developers, or if anyone has any experience comparing the two apps, which, unfortunately download to your iPhone with exactly the same name: Soundscape. (“Soundscape community” is listed in the App Store with that title, but when it downloads, it calls itself simply “Soundscape“ – just like the original Microsoft app, and just like the other Soundscape app from STA)

Yes, this will indeed cause some confusion as Soundscape and Soundscape Community are very similar to each other. However, they are different entities. As of right now, they are identical in many ways. Soundscape Community is open source and has its own set of developers helping out in that cause. I just read earlier on their discussion that they confirmed that they are not the same as the Soundscape by the Scottish Army, as they also have their own set of developers. It sounds like the Soundscape Community may reach out to the Soundscape to possibly merge and collaborate. Don’t forget that we also have VoiceVista, which is done by another developer. However, the similarity ends there as the interface and features they provide are a bit different. I also noticed that Microsoft Soundscape is now officially gone from the app store. So for those who still have it installed, you may consider removing it as it no longer works. Removing the app will help with one less Soundscape naming problem. I can only hope that both of the Soundscape developers will merge; otherwise, it remains to be seen if any additional new features will appear that take the original Soundscape above and beyond like what VoiceVista has done for its purposes.

Thomas, thank you for your explanation. I've been checking out Soundscape Community on my iPhone 14, and am going to take it for a test-drive once all this rain is gone if that ever happens, lol. I'm going to take my blue-tooth headset along for the ride, which apparently some people don't want me to wear but whatever. I'm also going to perhaps try out Voice Vista at some point. But Soundscape Community is very impressive.
