Reddit has become a necessary evil in my life, and I keep having worries about not having good access if I'm not on my desktop. I have not tried it on iOS with anything, including Safari.
What should I use to at least look at my feed and notifications, and post comments?

dystopia
From what I glean, Dystopia is the most stable app, but I worry the developer is no longer active to continue developing the app. The community in R/dystopia is very active, and recently, I brought up a suggestion to encourage the dev to open source the app. I feel like making the app open source would allow for the community to take over the development and continue the life of the app, allowing Blind people continued stable access to reddit on iOS.

Don't know why would reddit become a necessary evil as you say but Dystopia works fine for your needs I guess.

@WellF, There's a sub I post in daily, helping and being helped by people. Sometimes I also read and even post in the blind sub, but it's the other sub that is important to me. I have friends there. Nothing more, nothing less.

You don't need dystopia anymore. The actual reddit app is perfectly fine. It has been accessible for about a year and a half. The website is pretty good too

Reddit app
Reddit is the only social media I use frequently now. I've never used anything but the Reddit app, and it works fine for me.

I should always have a way to reach the sub for support or whatever now. Like if there's a power outage or I'm in town.

Yep you don’t need to use Dystopia to be honest. Reddit Does more than enough for me and it’s pretty accessible for what I need it for.

Ya, I'm going to need to go into the setting for the app and change the notifications it keeps throwing on my lock screen. I post a lot in that sub and it's been going off constantly. Other than that, it's doing what I need it to do.
Reddit app accessibility
I would say the official Reddit app has come a long way in terms of accessibility. Yes, there were times where parts suddenly becomes inaccessible but overall I find it very accessible. Not to mention there's a VO customization in the settings...something that I did not see in literally every other social media apps I've used.
