Hello!
I am searching for an accessible app with smileys and emot Icons. I have tested Emoji keyboard but I want to send smileys to other people who don't have Iphone. Now I must write the smileys manualy. for example :-) etc.
From what I understand, there aren't any apps that will send emoticons between phones with different OS's. So, since my mom has an android, I can't send her emoticons, unless I use the punctuation and do it the old-fashioned way. Also, I've never run across any emoticon apps that read aloud the emoticon you're sending, except for the emoji keyboard. Itt's possible I'm wrong, and just haven't found one yet, but to my knowledge, the apps don't send emoticons cross-platform.
Hi. i'm sorry i think I spelled that wrong, but huge credit for trying. ;) Seriously though I used to use a Japanese keyboard I think there might be more then one of them, that one, as far as i knew only worked if you had an iPhone or iDevice. Since i've enabled it on my old iPhone four, no one I've texted has an issue on the imotocons, even Facebook or twitter or other devices. Hope I might've helped somewhat? And if you or anyone else knows how to hand write some of the not so easy ones, let me know i'm always interested in knowing things like that.
:)
Hello,
As far as I can tell, Apple is no longer accepting apps which are meant to be used as emoticon keyboards/emogy replacements, and I've heard that they have removed a few apps from the App Store with this function already, so, you're pretty much out of luck, unless you write them manually.
I don't think that the emoticons in Emojy are only for iPhone because they are seen by sighted players inLords and Knights. It's just that they are actually pictures, not ASCII text, so they can't be read by other screen readers.

Hello,
Actually, Emogy emoticons appear on all Apple products only, including Macs. If someone tries to look at them on another platform, all they will probably see are black squared boxes, at least this is the case with Windows and Android.
I have an iPhone 4s my sighted friend has an Android Note 2. I sent him a message just now with emoticons from the Emoji keyboard and he was able to identify the images just fine. However, I sent the message using What's App Messenger. Maybe that's the key to success?
It must have something to do with whats up messenger. Because when I send anything from the emoji keyboard to an android user who is sighted, they all tell me it looks like gibberish, or sometimes they see nothing at all. Same with those that use windows phones. I've done some research on it, and it's natively not cross-platform.
Hello,
I think it all depends if the apps have support for them on other platforms besides Mac OS X and iOS. The only app that I'm completely sure that supports them are the Facebook and Facebook Messenger app. I know for sure the Twitter app does not support them on other platforms.
