I am extremely impressed with IOS 11.2. At last I can now use the new Siri US female voice. She is so fast and by far my favourite. Thanks man Apple. Thank You so much. Now this is interesting; When my phone is in it's poutch and notifications appear, only the tones are playing and nothing is beeing read automatically on the lock screen,, but I have no problems with this issue when my phone is out of it's poutch and laying on my desk. Wonders why this happens?

I don't know, but I've also tried this. When I put my phone into the pocket, it will not read anything automatically, nor will I activate anything on the screen. I think the phone will detect what kind of thing is interacting with the screen, either fingers or clothing or whatever? That's about the best answer I can give.

I have noticed this behaviour too. If the phone is face down, or in a pocket, it only makes the sound alert, but, if it's out, and face up, Voice Over speaks the alert. I like this behaviour better than either talking all the time, or never. Both have been recent behaviours. To me, this is the best since it allows me an easy way to determine my phone's actions, and potentially preserve my privacy by not spouting off the contents of an email or text when my phone is tucked away.

Hello again
Thanks to both of you for your replies. At least no notifications are lost. By pressing Home and swipe right shows them all.
