Siri Stops Working Sometimes

I have encountered what appears to be a bug when activating Seri. Occasionally, when I hold down the home button to activate, Seri will start and immediately end. I am using an iPhone 6 running IOS 8.0.2.

The only way I found to fix the bug was to reboot my iPhone.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If you have read the comments on some of the iOS bug forum threads, you will see it happens to a lot of people. One work around, rather than re-booting your phone every time, is to disable Voiceover before using Siri.

I have an Iphone five S and find Siri to either not work at all or be really sluggesh when writing emails and other things.
This is running ios 8.2. But on my friends Iphone 8 it was so much faster and clearer. So yeah there might be bugs but Siri on the six is lodes better than the five or five S.

Hello, do you have an airplay device, such as an Apple tv, an airport express or some kind of Airplay speakers?
I find this annoying bug too, when connecting to my airport express with speaker to listen to music and read books simultaneously, using VoiceOver on phone and music on big, semi-professional speakers.
When I connect to airplay, this bug appears, and does not disappear when I disconnect from it, the only solution is to reboot the device, and the worse thing is that it does not affect just Siri functionality but also voice dictation and all apps requiring microphone for voice input. Such as voice messages in whatsapp, fb messenger, iMessage itself, recorders, and so.
really an annoyance.

Yes. I sometimes listen to music and books with Airplay transmitting to my Apple TV. I also noted this bug while using voice dictation.

I never linked this problem to use of Airplay. Thanks.

Hopefully, this will be fixed in the next IOS 8 update.

I am having this issue as well on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.1. When I am connected to my Apple TV, Siri will turn on and then immediately back off. This also happens when I use the dictation feature. I disabled VO by triple tapping home but Siri still would not work even after VO was disabled. The only way I have been able to restore Siri has been to restart the phone.

Try updating to the latest version of ios.
I think it's 8.2.1. or something like that. That should help a little.

I just updated to IOS 8.1.2 and I am still having the problem. After using Airplay, Siri and Dictation will not work. The only way I can fix the issue is to re-start my iPhone. I am using an iPhone 6.

I would be very interested to know if there is any other work-around. If not, I hope the problem will be fixed in the next update.

Thanks everyone for this great forum for sharing ideas. Love it.

This sounds like siri and dictation are in conflict when using air play. maybe try not using airplay until a next update comes out? Just my opinion if you have to keep rebooting your phone.

I have also had some problems with siri.
Some times when I press the home button and make a request to siri some time she would cut me off.
