I wanted to bring your attention to a frustrating feature that has only recently begun appearing when using Siri and iOS 8 on my IPhone 5. I am totally blind and use VoiceOver and Siri features regularly. Our city buses do not announce current locations, so I would use my phone at times to get a feel for where I was by asking for the current location with Siri. It would then speak that information to me, until I tried it this morning. Now it says, here is your current location with just what I assume is a visual reference on a map, it does not speak the actual address. This is a serious issue and I hope you will address this at some point with some information about this bug or if their is a known workaround that Apple is using.

Can't Confirm
Hey there,
I just tried this, and cannot confirm your bug. I asked "where am I?" And got the expected address result. I am running IOS 8.2.
All the best,
Zack.
Phone model
Could the different outcomes be caused by newer/older phone models?
Siri
Just asked siri where I am and she gave me my address. Using iOS 8.2 and iPhone 6.
also can't confirm
i also can't confirm this one. iPhone 6 and iOS 8.2 plus siri gives me my address, if anything, faster then it did previously. also tested with iPad mini retina, and iOS 8.2, and siri. also gave the address correctly.
note, did you simply try this once, and get a map visually, or have you tried it multiple times to test it's responses. it could just be, that sometimes, the response might be a map, other times, it will say the address.
Sirri.
I'm afraid I haven't seen this either.
Additionl comments.
Just to back up the poster of this comment, I have just had Sirri respond with a visual representation of my location, responding here you are. I wouldn't call this a bug, as I've had her give my location verbally, as well as this shorter more visual version. Also, I think it does depend how you phrase the question.
No Issues Here
This is quite interesting. As I am also having no issue with this. I am using the "Where am I?" phrase when I ask Siri for the information. However, I have wonder the same thing. I wonder in some circumstances that has to show you the map? Perhaps, it couldn't identify the exact location for an address or maybe you are moving that it recognized that you were moving. Not sure. I can say that this does work for me as well. I certainly hope you will be able to resolve this issue.
SIRI on Apple Watch.
Firstly: Siri on my iPhone 6 used to give my exact house number but now gives me a location estimate of 9 house numbers. At least she speaks to me. Will she do as much on the Watch? I have partial sight and like to use Siri for text messages. I need to hear what she is sending. A reviewer on YouTube suggested that she can listen but doesn't speak out. Apart from needing to hear that she has understood me I would miss comments like" It is 6.30 am. You woke me up, Sybil!"
upgrade the firmware
To those having this issue with firmware 8.2, I suggest moving to 8.3, as there have been continuous updates to Siri, and there will be more when 9.0 arrives this fall. You may not get good results while moving on a bus merely because you are moving. By the time your location is pinpointed, you're beyond that point and it may get confused. Maybe, rather than using Siri, a full blown GPS app like The Seeing Eye GPS will give better results. And I doubt if the model of the phone makes a difference.
