Single finger swipe adjusts VO.

Hello,

I was wondering if this has happened to someone and what steps were taken to turn it off.

When I single finger swipe up or down, VO speech rate goes faster or slower accordingly. This would occur whether I am on the lock screen, app or settings. Any time I interact with a slider. I would swipe up or down to adjust the slider. While it adjust the slider. It also adjust VO speech rate. For example, I make the screen brighter and VO speaks faster as if the brightness irritates her. I lower the brightness and she speaks slower.

This started after I setup an IOS based hearing aid on an iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.3. I removed the hearing aid pairing as well as the app but it’s still doing it. I did the same thing on an iPhone 5 and iPad 4 with IOS 8.1.3 but they were not affected.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Solved. I must have accidentally changed a setting for VO.

If this happens to you, go to settings> General> Accessability> VO? Rotor and make sure Rotor is not set to speech rate. I set it to container and things are back to normal.

Thanks,

Hi David. I think you've misunderstood how the rotor works. In Settings, you can actually select multiple items to appear in your rotor. you can then access the various settings and toggles that you selected really quickly using the rotor. Here's a tutorial I made a while ago. It was on iOS7 at the time but it hasn't changed much.
