Side-by-side comparison of Weather gods & Carrot weather

Hi,
I have experience with both Weather gods & Carrot weather, and really like them, for different reasons.

However, I realize that I don't need both.
Since Weather gods will soon be subscription-based, I'd like a side-by-side comparison of both, so I can make a decision as to which one I'm going to subscribe to.
Carrot weather is available on more platforms, but I love the variety of sounds that Weather gods makes, which is a feature that Carrot weather doesn't offer.

Thanks for any recommendations.

If you are familiar with both apps, what are you expecting to hear from others that you don't already know? I understand that may sound snarky, but it is not intended. I merely wonder what you don't know, after using both apps that might be important to you. You are asking for potentially a lot of work, when it seems from your post you have access to both apps and can compare them yourself.

While Weather Gods will be moving to a subscription model for new users, the developer has stated many times that those who have previously purchased the app will not lose features, or be required to pay the subscription. Or at least that's how I interpret his words. You may be forcing yourself to make a choice unnecessarily.

Wishing you good weather.

Would you get ASAP respond from Carrot? I know that I do get ASAP respond from Scott. Also ASAP addressing bugs or issues regarding accessibility. Does Carrot does the same? I do not see them in this web page.

In regards to response times from the developers, yes. It can sometimes take a day or two for the developer of carrot weather to respond, but eventually, he will.

Is carrot in this web page? I do not recall ever seen them here. I do not recall asking us for input about accessibility. Did I miss their asking us for input? If I am wrong regarding this let me know.

It’s there, I don’t think the developer has ever asked for input regarding Accessibility, but if you give it to him anyway, especially if there’s a problem, he’s always happy to fix it.

Hi. I'd like to join in the discussion here. A sighted neighbor--who was at the time not my neighbor but one of my tutors--played me a sample of Carrot Weather in his car as we were going to a summer bash. I had just gotten my iPhone. The app gave the current weather followed by a snarky and amusing remark. I don't recall exactly what was said, but it was along the lines of something which I probably cannot say on a public thread such as this. This neighbor is fully sighted, but the app is listed on AppleVis apparently because it works with VoiceOver. I cannot say for certain as I don't have it, but I've seen it listed in the directory. I have used Weather Gods for about a year now and love it. Scott is indeed responsive, and updates the app on a regular basis. Quite often multiple updates come out in a single day. This app is listed on my website as one of my top ten. The sounds are great, and you have the option of turning them off if you don't want them. I cannot see the graphical animations, but I'm told they look wonderful. So I'd say try out each app for yourself, and see which one better fits the bill for you. Hth and good luck.

I recognize that we all have our own opinions and app preferences. That being said, I have used both Weather Gods and Carot Weather. I don't find either of them to be as efficient as Apple's built-in weather app. Quick, reliable, and easy to use. Works for me. I don't really need snarky comments or discussions of what God is doing what in my weather app, I just want to know what the weather is going to be.
Just my two cents worth.
Jim

yes they actually do. I was on their reddit, and they fixed some bugs that were shown in my podcast in a few days The developer actually contacted me privatly to discuss stuff via the reddit.

At one point, I had a premium club subscription, but I can’t remember which tier I had.
What’s everyone’s favorite, between the 2 apps?
If carrot weather, which subscription tier is most popular?

I like both. I had the lowest tear. Now that dark sky was bought by apple and they abandoned other platforms, I canceled carrott and now use weather gods.
