sending texts with iOS 16

I upgraded to iOS 16.0.2 over the weekend, and now when I send texts using siri I get asked if I want to change or send the text but there's no confirmation that the text was actually sent aside from a small noise that my phone makes. Is it still possible to get a verbal confirmation that the text was sent and if so what changes do I need to make? Btw my phone is an SE 2020.

I have the same problem but to expand if you use Siri you cannot go in and edit it, it does not show. This is since I updated to 16 and I have a 13 mini.

Another issue while texting is that I cannot send recorded messages. Before, next to the send button used to be one that said "record audio". That button has apparently been replaced by another dictate button. Holding it down and speaking does not record, which I thought might be the case. I am supposing this is not the case for sighted folks; otherwise, I'm sure it would already be fixed.

I get done when she sents the message. Also if you are in message, open apps or tap, slide to the end you will see record.

To get to the audio option in iMessages, you need to double tap on where it says "apps", then swipe right beyond the "dictate" button to where it says "audio". Double tap "Audio", then navigate to where it says "record", double tap and you'll be recording. Incidentally, you no longer have to hold the record button to keep recording. It would have been nice though for some sort of information to be given by apple regarding that change, as I also thought at first that the ability to record audio messages had been removed.

I had originally reported that I couldn't get a verbal response when sending a text that I dictated with siri. Since then, after discovering that the texts I thought I had sent never got to the person I was trying to send them to I discovered that when siri asks me if I want to send the text that I have to say yes a little louder than I did before upgrading. I don't know why this is but since I've started doing that I'm not having any trouble, so problem solved I guess.
